EARMARKS

WASHINGTON -- The Senate on Tuesday easily killed a move by conservative Republicans to temporarily ban senators from earmarking spending bills with back-home projects like roads, water projects and grants to local governments.

The Founding Fathers, it is said, are causing earthquakes in New England.  The signers of the Constitution spinning in their graves might well have that result.

• Earmarks. Adding expenses to bills without approval or with any excuse other than random greed.

• A president who wants to add 100% more money to healthcare and cut costs by the same 100%.

• A congress that wants to, is willing to, and can pass a much hated bill without a vote.

Just my opinion, but I think we're screwed.

Wo, I'm hoping the end of the story is much better than the middle. Either that or we're screwed....

Opus: obama cried "hope and change." We're losing hope and he's what we want to change.
