"In September 2009, US Ambassador to Japan John Roos reported to the Obama administration that the Japanese government did not think it was a good idea for President Obama to visit Hiroshima to apologize for the US having dropped an atomic bomb on that city . . . "published byWikileaks revealed.
If this twit wins the next election the country deserves what happens to it.

Billionaire financier plans to appeal court's decision to uphold his nine-year-old criminal conviction
From FoxNews
Perhaps this might have something to do with the fact that obama wants certain members of the Supreme Court to absent themselves. Eh?
Nah. That would be dishonest, wouldn't it?

Opus #6 put this on her blog. It deserves to be repeated. Even if our president doesn't agree with the sentiment.
Refrain:
And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died
And gave that right to me
And I'll gladly stand up next to you
And defend her still today
For there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

Who made this?
Why does our government use material in our weapons - or allow to make our weapons - from an enemy state such as China? Not an enemy? Pshaw!

Last night I saw someone on the "news" crying about GLOBAL WARMING. Of course - it's July. In December the same bloke, or one of his associates, with complain tearfully about GLOBAL COOLING. They reverse it in Australia. Save me Lord, from liberals.

Gonna Do WHAT ?????
photo from FOX online
With more sailors staying in the military amid a slumping economic recovery, the U.S. Navy is taking the unprecedented step of firing low-ranking petty officers to help rein in spending.
The Navy plans to let go of 3,000 young sailors after economic uncertainty put the service in the unusual position of having a manpower surplus.
The move comes as a new government report shows that the unemployment rate ticked up to 9.2 percent -- marking 29 straight months that number has been over 8 percent and a record streak since the Great Depression.

Trash Bag Bombs- Lethal Garbage
The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department responded to a “fireworks” call
in an alley located in a residential neighborhood and located a
common household trash bag floating a few inches off the ground. The
bag appeared filled with air with a harmless balloon appearance. A
patrol officer punctured the bag with a rake and the bag exploded
causing eye and ear injuries to three patrol officers on scene. It was
determined the device was a “Trash Bag Bomb.”
These devices are becoming frequently made as improvised explosive
devices (IED’s) due to the ease of manufacturing and the availability of instructions on how to
make the devices. Online website, www.anarchistcookbook.com, is one of many websites that
gives instructions on how to make these devices with cheap and accessible chemicals and
ingredients. The following are instructions for a trash bag bomb cited from the website:
..................................
The Anarchist Cookbook has been around a long time and id still, from the above noted, still making trouble.

Yours truly at the Scottsboro, AL BOOK FAIR, held earlier today (4-23-11) at the local library. I was able flog 8 books to the curious attendees. Fourteen local authors displayed their work to a curious public. And a good time was had by all. This photo was taken by a nice lady who writes children's books.

Happy Mardi Gras
MARDI GRAS!!
What fun, what joy – who am I, where I be? The joy of Carnival, as illustrated in the New Orleans Times/Picayune newspaper.

SPRING: NOT QUITE SPRUNG
In NorthEast Alabama life may fall into one of three categories:
Town/City Life: Lots of cars, restaurants, WalMart.
County Life: You can see the houses of your neighbors but cannot hit them with a thrown rock.
Country Life: You cannot see your neighbor's house. You can see little but fields/woods and probably own a tractor. In Spring/Summer you can see even less because of the leaves, flowers and chipmunks.
We live in the county and can see our neighbors' houses. Usually.

During Mardi Gras - Starting February 26 - moving about the French Quarter in New Orleans - especially Bourbon Street - is like being in a seven and a half block long, crowded elevator. Filled with drunks. The only way for a cop to get from place to place in an emergency is to get behind a police horse. They move the crowds out of the way very nicely. One may, however, hear the occasional high-pitched scream - "Ohshitgoddamnhesteppedonmyfoooot!" Pity.
One also meets the odd college twit who wants to ride a police horse. "You don't understand, officer. I'm an equestrian." He is then - it's almost always male - told what he really is, and is gently shoved back into the ranks of the milling crowd.
Above is a photo from the New Orleans Times Picayune, and displays some of the horses. I've no idea who the guy on the bicycle is. Maybe he's trying to get out of the way before he hears multiple voices shout, "CHARGE!"

His obamaship warns the Egyptian president not to fire on peaceful demonstrators. This means, I must assume, those peaceful demonstrators who are trying to burn the country to the ground. Our royal con man is in a quandary. Anything he does is going to be wrong, even after he's broadly indicated that his word is law to the world. Maybe he's getting the hint that what he does/says means little in the real world.
I don't really know what his problem is. These are just some of those peace loving Arabs he talks about, now and then.

WINTER
Front yard of the manse WoFat – January 10, 2011. This is Alabama! How do people live like this all winter?
I could not live "Up North." No way!
My cats and dogs demand I bring back Summer. The think I'm in charge of the weather. Sigh.
